“Lord Karttikeya, Murugan, first guru and Pleiadean master of kundalini yoga, was born of God Śiva’s mind. Any who wish to be kings in their realms even today, and to live in dharma would be wise to access the light of this King. He is known as the King of kings – as the kings of the earth in this previous age all worshipped him and derived their power from his teachings. He is said to have come to Earth in a previous age and guided souls back to Pleiades after their spiritual evolution on the fire planet ended. Murugan is the God of the Pleiadean system. The six mothers are known as the Krithikas, or the six stars of the Pleiades. In order to be able to look at all his mothers simultaneously, he grew more heads. Murugan is depicted as a six-faced God, reverting to the story that he had six mothers that raised him. He is the God of Saiva Siddhānta philosophy, and of Raja Yoga. He is the brother of Lord Ganesha, son of Śiva. The worship of Murugan along with Saiva Siddhānta was found throughout the Indian subcontinent in ancient times, but after the subjugation of Hinduism in the North after Islamic invasion and rule, both worship of Murugan and his teachings of Saiva Siddhānta were restricted in the south. Murugan is considered a “Tamil God” as the worship of Murugan in modern times is focused in the south of India and in places where large Tamil populations live, such as Sri Lanka and Malaysia. In Western Hermetic traditions, he is equated with the Archangel Michael. Murugan is a powerful Deity known by many names, including Kartikeya, Kumaresa, Saravanabhava, Shanmukha, Subramanya. Soorasamharam (correcting sooran) at Thiruchendur is every special.I write this post about Murugan, during the time of Kantha Sashti- the time celebrating Murugan’s defeat of a great demon. In the night, Lord Muruga is taken in procession accompanied by Nadaswaram, Veda Parayanam around Chhedanagar. Annadhanam is provided to all devotees participating in the functions. Special Abhishekams are performed to the Moolavar and Utsavar. On Thai Poosam day, Kavadis and Palkudams are taken by devotees in procession around Chhedanagar. Thai Poosam during January – February month is celebrated as a 6-day festival. As per tradition, devotes who go to the six abodes of Murugan tonsure their head in imitation of Palani deity. The Asuras were demigods who frequently warred against the Devas or gods. Murugan is considered as the son of Shiva and Parvathi, who was created to kill the Asuras and be the eternal protector of the Devas and other living beings. In Tamil Nadu, Murugan has continued to be popular with all classes of society since the Sangam age. Murugan has six shrines in Tamil Nadu, which are known as Arupadaiveedu. Murugan is the main god worshipped in India, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Singapore, Malaysia and many other places of the world where Tamils live.
